Eve Holbrook was drawn to yoga for relief from back pain following a childhood horseback riding injury. She has been practicing for 20 years. In 2001, she began teaching classes at theatre companies in New York City. Since then, Eve completed a two-year teacher-training program at the Iyengar Institute of New York, earned Junior Intermediate One level certification from the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the US and founded of The Nerve of Expression, a community project offering yoga to artists with multiple sclerosis. She has experience with therapeutic applications of yoga for backcare and scoliosis, has assisted in the medical classes at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, India, and in the Specific Needs class at the Iyengar Institue of New York with Senior Iyengar teacher, James Murphy.
